Anita Devineni, Ph.D.
Anita received a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Stanford University, where she studied olfactory neuron development in Liqun Luo's lab. She completed her Ph.D. in Ulrike Heberlein's lab at UCSF. Her graduate work focused on developing models of addictive behaviors in Drosophila and investigating the underlying genetic and neural mechanisms. In the Axel lab, she is studying the Drosophila taste system as a model for understanding sensory processing and modulation. Anita also has taught two courses as an adjunct instructor at City College of New York and writes a science blog called Brains Explained.
